Public Relations
ABC &
Messaging House

Let's talk about the 'ABC' of Public Relations when it comes to 'Interviews'

The ABC (Address > Bridge > Communicate) technique in interviews needs to be trained to your selected spokes-people + senior management team before having any public interview!

Those trainings are skills + knowledge + practice... (as always!)

The knowledge part is based on the 'Messaging House'.

Do you know what a 'Messaging House' is?

If you work in the Marketing & Communication department (and you are not an intern nor a junior!) and you have not heard of a 'Messaging House' yet nor can find it now (after me telling you):
you + your brand are at risk 😱

Although, as mentioned above, only senior management + trained 'spokes people' should ever talk to the press, still every Marketing-Communications person is an active Brand Ambassador and should therefore be trained on the company's strategic 'key message(s)'.

The 'PR Messaging House' should consist of:

  • 1 Main/Key Message
  • 3 Pillars with back-up company information to prove + underpin the desired Key Message

Whatever Interview question coming, the trained spokes-person is then calm + confident to always apply ABC to the company's best interest.

Of course, each company, each brand, each sub-division, etc should have it's own house:
